{"id":41017,"date":"2025-04-15T04:01:18","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T09:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=41017"},"modified":"2025-04-15T04:01:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T09:01:39","slug":"helicopter-tour-company-flights-grounded-after-deadly-crash-in-hudson-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=41017","title":{"rendered":"Helicopter tour company flights grounded after deadly crash in Hudson River"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Federal Aviation Administration has grounded the New York helicopter tour company that operated the sightseeing tour that crashed into the Hudson River last week,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/hudson-helicopter-crash-victims-named-rcna200801\">killing all six\u2002<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/hudson-helicopter-crash-victims-named-rcna200801\">people\u2002<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/hudson-helicopter-crash-victims-named-rcna200801\">aboard<\/a>, the agency said Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The FAA said the emergency order to ground New York Helicopter Charter was issued in part because the company\u2019s director of operations had been fired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Bell 206 helicopter crashed into the Hudson River at 3:17 p.m. Thursday, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Siemens&nbsp;executive Agust\u00edn Escobar; his wife, Merce Camprubi Montal; their three children; and pilot Sean Johnson were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier on Monday, the FAA said New York Helicopter Charter had&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/new-york-helicopter-company-shutting-crash-killed-6-rcna201086\">voluntarily shut down flights after the crash<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The FAA said it is also conducting a review of the company&#8217;s operations, known as the Certificate Holder Evaluation Program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/helicopter-tour-company-flights-grounded-deadly-crash-hudson-river-rcna201258\">Nbcnews<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Aviation Administration has grounded the New York helicopter tour company that operated the sightseeing tour that crashed into the Hudson River last week,&nbsp;killing all six\u2002people\u2002aboard, the agency said Monday.
