A Texas man was arrested for \u201cmaking terroristic threats\u201d against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem,<\/u><\/a> the Dallas Homeland Security Investigations arm said Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert King,<\/u><\/a> a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody in McKinney, Texas, after he made the threats, the agency said in a post on the social platform X<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKing\u2019s alarming social media posts included intentions to \u2018open fire\u2019 if agents are seen in his neighborhood,\u201d the group said in a post with a photo of a man in handcuffs and several officers with their faces blurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrest comes just days after Noem responded<\/u><\/a> to another online post about the Trump administration and ICE\u2019s work to deport migrants across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Sunday post on X, Noem said, \u201cIf you threaten or attempt to harm a law enforcement officer we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another social media user was advising his followers to shoot at ICE members who are arriving in communities in unmarked vehicles and use it as a \u201cself-defense case.\u201d The TikTok video has since been taken down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The threats and advice to shoot at ICE agents, particularly those who are not wearing a uniform, comes after several students who engaged in pro-Palestinian protests were detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish national and Tufts University Ph.D. student, was arrested by plain-clothes federal officers and taken away in an unmarked van. The security footage from the scene went viral online<\/u><\/a>, sparking outrage as she was in the U.S. on a visa and the agents were not clearly identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the latest in the Trump administration\u2019s efforts to ramp up deportations across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement to The Hill, a DHS spokesperson reiterated Noem\u2019s post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike Secretary Noem said: If you threaten or attempt to harm a law enforcement officer we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cPromises made, promises kept.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
