diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma<\/a>, a type of blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\nHe told Parade that he completed his sixth round of chemotherapy in February and received encouraging results from the biopsy on his lymph node.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMelissa and I waited for a week to get the biopsy results back, and there is no sign of cancer,\u201d he told Parade, referring to his wife. \u201cOne of the few times in my life when \u2018zero\u2019 has been a great number to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actor, who portrayed Uncle Joey on the original \u201cFull House\u201d and the show\u2019s reboot, said on TODAY in November that he first noticed symptoms in October 2024 after coming down with a cold. He found a golf-ball-sized lump in his groin within a week of feeling sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, which he told Parade causes neuropathy, nausea, dizziness and \u201cchemo brain,\u201d in which he found himself in a mental fog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was in such a daze when I walked out of the hospital, my wife looked at me (when) we got in the car, and she goes, \u2018We forgot to ring the bell,\u2019\u201d he said about his sixth chemotherapy treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coulier also struggled with fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThough I wanted to move around and go out and work around the house, I just couldn\u2019t,\u201d he told Parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actor and comedian had frank conversations about mortality with Melissa, 41, his wife of 10 years. Coulier\u2019s sister, Sharon, 36, and niece, Shannon, 29, both died from breast cancer as well as his mother. His sister, Karen, also is currently living with cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think everybody\u2019s mind goes there,\u201d he told Parade. \u201cIt\u2019s part of the reality of life. Like, \u2018Wow, this is really serious\u2019 and \u2018What\u2019s the worst that could happen?\u2019 I\u2019ve seen it so often in my family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter (the fifth round of) chemo, he was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if I could do this again,\u2019\u201d Melissa told Parade. \u201cHe was like, \u2018I\u2019m prepared either way. If I die, I die. And if I can stay here, great. I want to.\u2019 Those conversations were obviously so tough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recent encouraging results have lifted Coulier\u2019s spirits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll tell you this. Today is the first day that I really feel like, \u2018Wow, I\u2019m feeling pretty darn good. I feel like myself.\u2019 And it\u2019s today,\u201d Coulier told Parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
