{"id":3875,"date":"2023-01-11T04:42:07","date_gmt":"2023-01-11T10:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=3875"},"modified":"2023-03-22T03:34:02","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T08:34:02","slug":"california-national-guard-general-relieved-of-duty-after-allegedly-using-troops-for-personal-errands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=3875","title":{"rendered":"California National Guard General Relieved Of Duty After Allegedly Using Troops For Personal Errands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A California National Guard general has been relieved of his duties after he reportedly ordered subordinate troops to run personal errands for himself and his mother.<br \/>\nBrigadier General Jeffrey Magram is being \u201cinvoluntarily transferred\u201d to serve in the U.S. Air Force retired reserve after an internal disciplinary board investigated multiple allegations that he abused his authority, the\u00a0LA Times\u00a0reported.<br \/>\nComplaints state Magram once ordered a subordinate to drive him 120 miles to a dentist appointment and forced a service member to accompany his mother on a shopping trip.<br \/>\nThe guardsman who drove Magram to his dentist appointment lamented in a complaint, \u201cmy job is to take care of the airmen in the state of California and not be a chauffeur for a general,\u201d per the outlet.<br \/>\nAnother\u00a0complaint\u00a0accused Magram of putting a fighter jet on standby in an attempt to scare civilian protestors into dispersing, per the outlet<br \/>\nAdditionally, Magram once allegedly ordered a subordinate to complete the general\u2019s annual cybersecurity training \u2014 two weeks after its completion was due. Magram claimed he did this because he was suffering from \u201ca tremendously busy operational tempo,\u201d reported the LA Times.<br \/>\nA California National Guard spokesperson told the LA Times that Magram\u2019s involuntary transfer is \u201cparallel\u201d to being fired.<br \/>\nThe general failed to offer an apology in a statement he released following his transfer. \u201cI want to reiterate that had I ever heard of any ethics issues like this from subordinates, peers or commanders, or perceptions of such, I would have corrected or addressed it on the spot,\u201d Magram wrote, according to the outlet.<br \/>\nA memo written to Magram by Major General Matthew Beavers, the Guard\u2019s acting adjutant general, said, \u201cYour conduct has caused me to lose faith, trust, and confidence in your ability to continue serving,\u201d per the LA Times.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/01\/10\/california-national-guard-general-jeffrey-magram-dentist-mother-shopping\/\">Dailycaller<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A California National Guard general has been relieved of his duties after he reportedly ordered subordinate troops to run personal errands for himself and his mother.
