The president of New York University\u2019s College Republicans chapter resigned after she said in a magazine interview that Barron Trump\u2002<\/u><\/a>is \u201csort of an oddity on campus.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

College Republicans of America posted Monday on the social platform X that Kaya Walker resigned after controversy broke out due to an interview she did with Vanity Fair<\/u><\/a> in which she said President Trump\u2019s 18-year-old son was \u201csort of like an oddity on campus.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe goes to class, he goes home,\u201d she told the outlet, adding a professor joked Barron Trump \u201cdoesn\u2019t really belong here.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national group said Walker\u2019s comments do not \u201calign with the values and principles upheld by our organization.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While College Republicans believe Vanity Fair twisted Walker\u2019s words, \u201cwe still found it to be inappropriate. The NYU chapter President submitted her resignation last night.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barron Trump is known for staying out of the political spotlight, but the president and first lady have credited him with helping his father connect with younger audiences during his presidential campaign last year, including by offering advice on which podcasts to go on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

College Republicans of America President Will Donahue in a statement invited Barron Trump to join their organization.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBarron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join College Republicans of America,\u201d Donahue said.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStrong leadership is built on resilience, courage, and the humility to rise above petty hostility \u2014 qualities that Barron has already demonstrated. We invite Barron to join us in shaping the future of our party,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
