{"id":3776,"date":"2023-01-09T05:05:59","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T11:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=3776"},"modified":"2023-03-21T02:31:51","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T07:31:51","slug":"ex-fbi-agent-says-idaho-murder-suspect-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=3776","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Ex-FBI agent says Idaho murder suspect may have used anonymous online account to talk about crimes<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former\u00a0FBI\u00a0agent says an anonymous Facebook account\u2019s eerily accurate speculations about the Idaho slayings may have been posted by murder suspect\u00a0Bryan Kohberger.<br \/>\nAn account named \u201cPappa Rodger\u201d made predictions about the murder investigation in a public Facebook group well in advance of those details becoming public, said retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer, prompting her to consider that Mr.\u00a0Kohberger\u00a0could have been the account owner.<br \/>\nThe comment in question was posted Nov. 30, when Pappa Rodger wrote: \u201cOf the evidence released, the murder weapon has been consistent as a large fixed-blade knife. This leads me to believe they found the sheath. This evidence was released prior to autopsies.\u201d<br \/>\nIt wasn\u2019t widely reported that police had found a sheath at the scene of the crime until the affidavit was released Thursday, Jan. 5. A DNA sample found on the button of the sheath was used by police in Moscow, Idaho, to solidify their case against Mr.\u00a0Kohberger.<br \/>\nMs. Coffindaffer backed her hunch that Pappa Rodger was Mr.\u00a0Kohberger\u00a0by pointing out the suspect\u2019s sloppy way of carrying out the crime.<br \/>\nThe\u00a0affidavit\u00a0also said that Mr.\u00a0Kohberger, a 28-year-old doctoral student in criminology at Washington State University, used Reddit to issue a survey in which respondents were asked to provide information to \u201cunderstand how emotions and psychological traits influence decision making when committing a crime.\u201d<br \/>\nMr.\u00a0Kohberger\u00a0was arrested Dec. 30 in Pennsylvania and accused of murdering Ethan Chapin, 20; Xana Kernodle, 20; Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21, at their off-campus home near the University of Idaho on Nov. 13.<br \/>\nHe was extradited to Idaho and booked at the Latah County jail on Wednesday. The suspect was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary at his initial court hearing Thursday.
