President Trump\u2002<\/u><\/a>shrugged off the news that he made billions of dollars through the launch of his new meme crypto coin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a press conference Tuesday, his first full day back in the White House, Trump was asked by a reporter if he intends to continue products that benefit himself, like the $TRUMP coin.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, I don\u2019t know if it benefited. I don\u2019t know where it is,\u201d Trump said in comments highlighted by Mediaite.<\/u><\/a> \u201cI don\u2019t know much about it other than I launched it. I heard it was very successful. I haven\u2019t checked it, where is it today?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou made a lot of money sir,\u201d the reporter replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow much?\u201d Trump questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeveral billion dollars it seems like in the last several days,\u201d the reporter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president shrugged off the comment, saying several billion is \u201cpeanuts\u201d for the people he\u2019s spent the last few days with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seated in front of his Cabinet nominees at the Inauguration on Monday were tech\u2019s wealthiest people:<\/u><\/a> Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg,<\/u><\/a> Apple CEO Tim Cook,<\/u><\/a> Google CEO Sundar Pichai,<\/u><\/a> Amazon founder Jeff Bezos\u2002<\/u><\/a>and SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk,<\/u><\/a> who has been appointed to lead Trump\u2019s Department of Government Efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump announced his first official cryptocurrency last week and over his inauguration weekend it shot up in value quickly. The price rose to nearly $30 by midday on Saturday and the market value of the coin was $30 billion on paper since the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tech entrepreneurs attending Trump\u2019s events in Washington this week unscored the months-long effort by the industry to mend its relationship with Trump, who had previously bashed the companies and Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concerns have been raised<\/u><\/a> about what influence, if any, they will have over Trump during his second term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
