{"id":36801,"date":"2025-01-05T02:58:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-05T08:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=36801"},"modified":"2025-01-05T04:20:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-05T10:20:38","slug":"new-orleans-saints-nfl-announce-1m-donation-to-bourbon-street-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=36801","title":{"rendered":"New Orleans Saints, NFL announce $1M donation to Bourbon Street victims"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The New Orleans Saints and the NFL announced Saturday that they will donate $1 million to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/victims-new-orleans-attack\/story?id=117246659\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the victims<\/a>&nbsp;of the New Year&#8217;s Day truck ramming attack on Bourbon Street that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/1-dead-vehicle-strikes-crowd-new-orleans-police\/story?id=117246329\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">killed 14 people<\/a>&nbsp;and injured dozens of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;Our community has experienced an unimaginable tragedy and our collective hearts are broken as we mourn for the victims and survivors on the New Year&#8217;s Day terror attack in New Orleans,&#8221; Saints owner Gayle Benson said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The team will be working with the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) and United Way to help distribute $500,000 to organizations that are providing support to the victims and their families.<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/victims-new-orleans-attack\/story?id=117246659\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The NFL Foundation, the league&#8217;s philanthropic arm, said it would match the team&#8217;s donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;The NFL is committed to standing with the resilient community of New Orleans during this difficult time,&#8221; Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As of Saturday, 13 of the 14 victims have been publicly identified.
