On Monday\u2019s broadcast of MSNBC\u2019s \u201cDeadline: White House,\u201d host Alicia Menendez reacted to incoming Border Czar Tom Homan vowing to unleash Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol by stating that this isn\u2019t their purpose and argued that Homan wants \u201cto go after lawmakers in this country who are simply trying to do the right thing\u201d by vowing to go after sanctuary cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Menendez said, \u201cWe have to remember the humanity. We have to also remember, \u2026 that the purpose of ICE and Border Patrol is not to be \u2018unleashed\u2019. That was the verb that was used by Tom Homan. And it\u2019s also not to go after lawmakers in this country who are simply trying to do the right thing. It\u2019s not just the Chicago mayor that Homan wants to prosecute.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She then played video of incoming Border Czar Tom Homan stating that it\u2019s illegal to conceal and harbor people from ICE before asking what would be legally possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later in the segment, Menendez said that there is a consensus in favor of deporting dangerous individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
