{"id":36139,"date":"2024-12-20T01:27:59","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T07:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=36139"},"modified":"2024-12-20T01:28:02","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T07:28:02","slug":"trump-transfers-all-his-djt-shares-to-his-revocable-trust-sec-filings-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=36139","title":{"rendered":"Trump transfers all his DJT shares to his revocable trust, SEC filings show"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">President-elect&nbsp;Donald Trump&nbsp;this week&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/12\/20\/trump-transfers-all-his-djt-shares-to-his-revocable-trust-sec-filings-show.html\">transferred his entire stake of\u2002shares\u2002in\u2002Trump Media<\/a>&nbsp;to a revocable trust of which he is the sole beneficiary, regulatory&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/sec.irpass.cc\/2660\/0001474506-24-000291.htm\">filings<\/a>&nbsp;revealed Thursday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump did not receive any money for the gift of his 114,750,000 shares of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/04\/08\/trump-media-how-much-truth-social-app-executives-make.html\">Trump Media\u2002stock<\/a>&nbsp;to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust on Tuesday, according to a filing with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/\">Securities and Exchange Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Because Trump is the beneficiary of the trust, he now \u201cindirectly\u201d owns the Trump Media shares he transferred, the SEC filing noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The president-elect\u2019s son, Donald Trump Jr., is the sole trustee of the trust, and has sole voting and investment power over securities held by the entity, according to a separate SEC filing Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump Media, which trades under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/09\/13\/trump-media-djt-not-selling-stock-pops.html\">DJT ticker<\/a>, closed at $35.41 per share Thursday, making the value of the transferred stock more than $4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump, who is set to be sworn in as president for a second non-consecutive term on Jan. 20, had been the largest individual shareholder in the social media company, which operates the Truth Social app. His stake represented nearly 53% of the company\u2019s outstanding shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">CNBC has requested comment on the transfer from spokespeople for Trump and for Trump Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The SEC filing on Thursday said that after the Trump transferred his shares, he \u201cdirectly owned 0 shares of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp. and indirectly owned 114,750,000 shares of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe reporting person [Trump] is the settlor and sole beneficiary of the Trust,\u201d the filing said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The type of transfer Trump used this week is not new for the president-elect, although the dollar value of his shares outpaces the value of any assets he previously moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Before his first inauguration as president in 2017, Trump made similar transfers to the same revocable trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">At that time, Trump transferred various real estate holdings, assets and liabilities to the trust, according to reports produced by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-10\/px-00773-june-30-2018-statement-of-financial-condition.pdf\">Mazars<\/a>, which then was his accounting firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He also made transfers to the trust in February 2016, when he was campaigning for president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump has not held an executive position in Trump Media, whose shares began public trading earlier this year after the then-privately held company merged with a public company, Digital World Acquisition Corp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump has nominated two Trump Media\u2019s board members to high-level positions in his administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump tapped former pro-wrestling mogul&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-names-linda-mcmahon-pick-education-secretary-rcna180917\">Linda McMahon<\/a>&nbsp;as his pick for education secretary, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/kash-patel-said-come-journalists-now-hangs-fbi-candidacy-rcna182661\">Kash Patel<\/a>, a former Trump White House official, to become the next FBI director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump also recently named Trump Media CEO&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-picks-truthsocial-ceo-devin-nunes-intelligence-advisory-board-rcna184272\">Devin Nunes<\/a>&nbsp;to chair the President\u2019s Intelligence Advisory Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That position does not require Senate confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump has said that Nunes, who previously represented a California district in the House of Representatives, will remain CEO of Trump Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/trump-transfers-djt-shares-revocable-trust-sec-filings-show-rcna184966\">Nbcnews<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President-elect&nbsp;Donald Trump&nbsp;this week&nbsp;transferred his entire stake of\u2002shares\u2002in\u2002Trump Media&nbsp;to a revocable trust of which he is the sole beneficiary, regulatory&nbsp;filings&nbsp;revealed Thursday evening.
