However, Yoon did not say what measures he would take. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTo safeguard a liberal South Korea from the threats posed by North Korea\u2019s communist forces and to eliminate anti-state elements \u2026 I hereby declare emergency martial law,\u201d Yoon said in the national address. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Parliament voted to lift the declaration hours later.
