{"id":35107,"date":"2024-11-24T02:13:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-24T08:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=35107"},"modified":"2024-11-24T04:35:34","modified_gmt":"2024-11-24T10:35:34","slug":"2-dead-and-1-injured-in-civil-air-patrol-plane-crash-in-colorado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=35107","title":{"rendered":"2 dead and 1 injured in Civil Air Patrol plane crash in Colorado"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Two people are dead and one is injured after a Civil Air Patrol plane crashed in Colorado on Saturday while on a training mission, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The crash on Storm Mountain, about 80 miles north of Denver, was reported shortly after 11 a.m., the Larimer County Sheriff\u2019s Office said in a statement Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Responding deputies found all three people who were on board, with two later confirmed dead, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The plane, out of the Thompson Valley Composite Squadron, crashed in Larimer County while on a routine training mission that included aerial photography, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Gov. Jared Polis identified the deceased as pilot Susan Wolber and aerial photographer Jay Rhoten. The person who was injured was identified as the co-pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Colorado Army National Guard airlifted the co-pilot to a medical facility for care, according to Polis. The Larimer County Sheriff\u2019s Office described the survivor&#8217;s injuries as &#8220;severe.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Larimer County Search and Rescue also responded and was likely to be on-scene for days directing recovery efforts, the sheriff&#8217;s office said. Gen.
