{"id":35034,"date":"2024-11-22T02:05:47","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T08:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=35034"},"modified":"2024-11-22T02:06:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T08:06:49","slug":"skulls-found-on-new-mexico-property-not-related-to-missing-woman-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=35034","title":{"rendered":"Skulls found on New Mexico property not related to missing woman case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/parts-human-skulls-remains-found-new-mexico-case-tied-missing-woman-rcna180081\">Skulls found on a New Mexico property\u2002<\/a>earlier this month were obtained online and are not related to the case of a woman who went missing in 2019, the Lea County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The sheriff&#8217;s office had said that someone in the county had given a man a ride, and that man, who was carrying two bags, &#8220;made alarming statements and discarded objects from the vehicle, some of which appeared to be human bones.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Human remains were found after a search of a property associated with the man in Jal, a city of around 2,000 in the southeastern part of the state, the sheriff&#8217;s office said last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A further investigation determined the seven skulls that were retrieved had ornamental pieces or carvings that are from outside the United States, and that &#8220;investigators have determined that the skulls were procured online,&#8221; the office said Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The medical examiner determined the remains found on the property had &#8220;no medical or legal significance,&#8221; the sheriff&#8217;s office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe remains will be medically cremated,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On Nov. 12, shortly after the discovery of the remains, the sheriff&#8217;s office said it could be related to Angela McManes, who disappeared in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Two days later, the sheriff&#8217;s office said there did not appear to be a link between the skulls and McManes beyond the proximity of her home to the property where the skulls were found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/skulls-found-new-mexico-property-not-related-missing-woman-case-rcna181299\">Nbcnews<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Skulls found on a New Mexico property\u2002earlier this month were obtained online and are not related to the case of a woman who went missing in 2019, the Lea County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Thursday.
