Dan Goldman, New York Democrat, who plans to file the resolution Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/congress\/house-democrat-introduce-resolution-reiterating-trump-can-only-serve-t-rcna179987\">According to<\/a>&nbsp;NBC News, which obtained a copy of the resolution Wednesday, it states that the 22nd Amendment \u201capplies to two terms in the aggregate as President of the United States\u201d and reaffirms that it \u201capplies to President-elect Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The resolution also cites a number of times where Mr. Trump, widely known as a trolling jokester, said that he might serve another term or install himself as a dictator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For example, coming out of the House Republican Conference on Wednesday, he joked \u201cI suspect I won\u2019t be running again unless you say, \u2019He\u2019s so good, we\u2019ve got to figure something else.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The 22nd Amendment already limits presidents to two terms, regardless of consecutive or not. It states \u201cno person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a><\/a>The resolution might have a hard time coming to a vote, because Republicans control the House.
