\u201cDaily Show<\/a>\u201d host Jon Stewart<\/a> said Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a>\u2019 campaign had a \u201csecret weapon\u201d that was supposed to help defeat Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s the campaign\u2019s record fundraising haul<\/a>, which was used in part on a massive ground game<\/a>. Volunteers knocked on 5 million doors in Pennsylvania alone, where some voters said they had two or three visits from campaign workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou know, if there\u2019s one thing people love more than someone appearing randomly at their door once, it\u2019s that same fucking person coming back two or three times to talk politics,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cEven though everyone from vacuum salesmen to Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses know that\u2019s a losing strategy \u2015 in fact, they\u2019ve known that for decades \u2015 let\u2019s just spend a quarter of a billion dollars on it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the Harris campaign repeatedly insisted that democracy was on the ballot and hired lawyers around the nation ready to fight Trump after the election. The campaign also enlisted county clerks, secretaries of state and others in the effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They just forgot the most important element: voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
