{"id":34361,"date":"2024-11-05T19:00:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T01:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=34361"},"modified":"2024-11-05T19:00:05","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T01:00:05","slug":"election-irregularities-occurring-across-the-country-on-election-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=34361","title":{"rendered":"Election irregularities occurring across the country on Election Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Election integrity problems range from fraudulent voter registrations and ballots to denied access to poll watchers to voter suppression at the polls, all of which have already occurred this election cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ahead of an election with enormous consequences in which control of the U.S. House, Senate, and White House are all up for grabs, state officials and political parties are facing numerous election integrity issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Election integrity problems range from fraudulent voter registrations and ballots to denied access for poll watchers to voter suppression at the polls. Some of these have already occurred in crucial swing states, with both political parties quick to take these issues to court as millions of voters head to the polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Election Day, election irregularities have occurred in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Georgia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Georgia authorities said Tuesday that Russians appear to be behind&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/fake-bomb-threats-two-urban-county-polling-places-georgia-appear-be\"><u>fake bomb threats<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;to two urban county polling places but that the threats haven&#8217;t disrupted voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The hoax has affected polling places in Fulton County and Clayton County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These appear to be Russian-tied hoaxes and we have full investigations ongoing,\u201d Jordan Fuchs, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told&nbsp;Just the News. Fuchs said the threats were made virtually and that there appears to be no bombs in either location. Voting continues unimpeded, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbradio.com\/news\/politics\/georgia-election-results-here-are-polling-locations-staying-open-late-metro-atlanta\/6JIG27TFANBHVHCM4IT7QK2GIA\/\"><u>Voting hours at polling locations<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in some counties were extended due to either late starts or false bomb threats. Polls in Georgia were originally scheduled to close by 7 p.m. Eastern Time, but polling locations in the counties of Cobb, Fulton, and Gwinnett were extended anywhere from 10 minutes to 58 minutes. Dekalb County was also looking to extend its voting hours due to a false bomb threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, a federal judge in Georgia&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/scathing-rebuke-federal-judge-georgia-rejects-rnc-emergency-request-toss\"><u>rejected a request by the Republican National Committee<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;on Tuesday to put aside some absentee votes that it argues were improperly collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The RNC sued seven heavily Democratic counties in George,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/11\/05\/2024-elections-live-coverage-updates-analysis\/georgia-rnc-votes-case-00187486\"><u>Politico\u2002reports<\/u><\/a>, arguing that, in accepting hand-delivered ballots, the counties had improperly collected them. State officials claim the practice is legal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. District Judge R. Stan Baker, a Trump appointee, ruled that the RNC\u2019s complaint was based on a misreading of state law, which the GOP were conflating \u201cearly voting,\u201d which ended Friday, with absentee voting, which continues through Election Day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pennsylvania<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Pennsylvania&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/voting-malfunctions-plague-heavily-gop-pennsylvania-counties-judge-orders\"><u>Cambria and Bedford counties<\/u><\/a>, where then-President Trump trounced Democratic challenger Joe Biden four years ago, have had problems scanning ballots on Tuesday, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/05\/us-news\/widespread-voting-problems-reported-in-2-heavily-republican-pennsylvania-counties\/\"><u>New York Post<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Cambria County Board of Election learned early this morning that a software malfunction in the County\u2019s Electronic Voting System has prevented voters from scanning their ballots,\u201d Solicitor Ron Repak said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">He assured voters before a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wjactv.com\/news\/local\/officials-acknowledge-cambria-co-voting-issues-file-for-voting-time-extension\"><u>judge extended voting hours to 10 p.m. Tuesday<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that &#8220;all votes will be counted&#8221; whether by hand or &#8220;express voting machine[s]&#8221; electronically.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">WJAC also reported that officials told the court the &#8220;malfunction caused voters confusions, long lines of voters, and many individuals left the polling locations without casting a ballot,&#8221; and &#8220;threatens to disenfranchise a significant number of voters in Cambria County.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Bedford County officials were having problems with &#8220;voting tabulator machines in several precincts&#8221; but &#8220;have identified the issue and sent support teams to resolve the problem.&#8221; They said the &#8220;ability to vote has not been impacted.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wisconsin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">RNC Chairman&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChairmanWhatley\/status\/1853905510359056607\"><u>Michael Whatley announced<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;on Tuesday that the city of Milwaukee will&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/after-rnc-lawsuit-milwaukee-will-not-prevent-poll-watchers-having-full\"><u>grant poll watchers full access<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;to observe the voting process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/rnc-sues-milwaukee-elections-commission-over-limiting-poll-watchers\"><u>RNC filed a lawsuit Monday<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;against the Milwaukee Elections Commission after the city announced that it would limit the number of poll watchers allowed at certain polling locations on Election Day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Milwaukee limited poll watchers at three early voting polling locations,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/prod-static.gop.com\/media\/documents\/MKE_Summons_and_Complaint_filed_no_stamp_1730742648.pdf?_gl=1*90zbxn*_gcl_au*MTAwNDE1NjEwNC4xNzIzNDc5Mzk4&amp;_ga=2.123933641.2115845758.1730737611-578841641.1723479399\"><u>according to the lawsuit<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Also,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/glitch-milwaukee-voting-machines-will-require-recounting-30000-votes-city\"><u>approximately 30,000 ballots<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;cast by Milwaukee voters will have to be recounted due to a glitch in a tabulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">City spokesperson Jeff Fleming, a local&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/milwaukee-tabulator-issue-ballot-recount-110524\"><u>Fox News\u2002affiliate reported<\/u><\/a>, said Tuesday that the doors to 13 sealed tabulators failed to close properly, impacting early absentee and in-person ballots.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The opened ballots will need to be reprocessed, which could take hours, the city said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prior to Election Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">This presidential election is expected to be close, as&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-harris\"><u>RealClearPolitics\u2002polling average<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;shows former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris tied nationally at 48.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Honest Elections Project Executive Director Jason Snead&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/election-results-likely-be-delayed-amid-differing-state-rules-litigation\"><u>previously told\u2002Just the News<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that delays in election results will likely occur with a close race, and the swing states of Arizona and Pennsylvania are likely to be delayed in announcing presidential election results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Amid the close&nbsp;presidential&nbsp;race, the RNC said it has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/supreme-court-possible-2024-election-cases\/\"><u>filed 130 lawsuits<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in 26 states this election cycle,&nbsp;while Harris&#8217; campaign&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/08\/17\/us\/elections\/democrats-election-legal-challenges.html\"><u>told\u2002The New York Times<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in August that its election legal team has increased 10-fold over what President Joe Biden\u2019s was in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Some swing states have already experienced election irregularities during early and mail-in voting, as others are bracing for them to occur on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Pennsylvania<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/voter-registration-fraud-investigations-point-arizona-group-ties-left\"><u>Five Pennsylvania counties are investigating<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;possible fraudulent voter applications and mail-in ballot applications in the days and weeks leading up to Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.attorneygeneral.gov\/taking-action\/ag-henry-issues-statement-on-reviews-of-voter-registration-forms-in-multiple-pa-counties\/\"><u>Pennsylvania attorney general\u2019s office<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;announced Thursday, \u201cApparent attempts to submit fraudulent voter registration forms in Berks, Lancaster, Monroe, and York counties have been defeated. The Office of Attorney General is working with the respective county officials to investigate those responsible for this conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, Cambria County has found fraudulent voter registration applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">There have also been&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/pennsylvania-become-ground-zero-presidential-election-winner-and-election\"><u>numerous lawsuits<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in the commonwealth over election procedures and administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Former President Donald Trump&#8217;s campaign and the RNC&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/gop-wins-lawsuit-against-pennsylvania-county-gets-3-extra-early-voting-days\"><u>won a lawsuit<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;against Bucks County, Pa., on Wednesday to extend early voting by three days, following allegations that voters were turned away before polls for early voting were scheduled to close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/supreme-court-says-pennsylvania-voters-whose-mail-ballots-are-rejected-can\"><u>unanimously agreed<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/25263463-order-24a408\"><u>allow a Pennsylvania ruling to remain<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that lets voters whose mail-in ballots are rejected for technical reasons have their votes still count if they vote again by provisional ballot. The original lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, and the RNC appealed it to the U.S. Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Georgia<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">According to RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, the counties of Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb, and Gwinnett&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/rnc-sues-georgia-counties-accepting-ballots-over-weekend-not-allowing-gop\"><u>accepted ballots over the weekend<\/u><\/a>, contrary to state law, and prevented Republican poll watchers from observing the counting of ballots. \u201cFollowing our pressure campaign, our poll watchers have now been let into the building in all four Georgia counties,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChairmanWhatley\/status\/1852791726747857244\"><u>Whatley posted on X<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The RNC sued those four counties \u2013 in addition to the counties of Chatham, Clarke, and Clayton \u2013 in a lawsuit that is still ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our lawsuit over the offices remaining open is still pending, but we have eyes in the room as votes are being counted,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChairmanWhatley\/status\/1852791726747857244\"><u>Whatley wrote<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in his post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Arizona<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Maricopa County, the most populous county in Arizona, may have issues on Election Day and take several days for results to be calculated.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/local\/election-officials-maricopa-county-say-it-will-take-10-13-days-count-ballots?utm_source=justthenews.com&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=external-news-aggregators\"><u>Maricopa County election officials announced<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that it will take 10-13 days to completely tabulate all ballots, meaning that some races may not be called on election night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/maricopacounty\/status\/1849236744236904697\"><u>county claims<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that \u201cstate election laws and narrow margins of victory\u201d are the causes for the expected delay, as voters are given a five-day period to provide sufficient ID if they had not already done so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">However, Kari Lake, the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Arizona, argued that election results should not be delayed for 10-13 days. \u201cIn 2022, the Arizona Legislature empowered County Recorders to allow voters to self-tabulate their own early ballots on Election Day, but for some reason the Maricopa County Recorder refuses to provide voters this option,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KariLake\/status\/1849464348642594887\"><u>Lake posted<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">There may also be long lines in Maricopa County on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Harmeet Dhillon, counsel for the RNC, and Abe Hamadeh, the GOP nominee for Arizona\u2019s 8th Congressional District, warned the Maricopa County Recorder\u2019s Office and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/republicans-warn-long-election-day-lines-maricopa-county-says-election\"><u>potential delays and voting issues<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that could occur on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Republicans noted that the length of the ballot will increase the time it takes for voters to fill it out and potential equipment failures could also increase voting time and cause long lines at polling locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The paper general election ballot for Maricopa County this year is two pages and double-sided, which is the first time&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/arizona-election-long-ballots-287ab6d40f58e349b65479c3cc3aaab6\"><u>since 2006<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that the ballot has been longer than a page, presenting novel technical problems. Maricopa County Elections Director&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/arizona-election-long-ballots-287ab6d40f58e349b65479c3cc3aaab6\"><u>Scott Jarrett warned<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in September that ballot tabulation machines might jam because two sheets of paper will be inserted instead of one.
