A&nbsp;total of 49 cases have been recorded in 10 states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;Of the 28 reported, 10 were hospitalized and one developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious illness that can lead to kidney failure. One elderly person died in Colorado,&#8221; the statement posted on the department&#8217;s website said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Most of the patients had eaten so-called quarter-pound cheeseburgers or &#8220;Royal Cheeseburgers,&#8221; according to the CDC.
