Olympians Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield are ready to sprint down the aisle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple, who have been dating for about two years, shared their engagement news in a sweet Instagram<\/a> post Sunday. The joint post featured a romantic video set to Snoh Aalegra\u2019s \u201cDo 4 Love\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the video, which was filmed Saturday, Team USA’s Lyles and Team Jamaica’s Bromfield walked through the doorway of a home and were greeted with pink rose petals covering the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyles, wearing a black suit, and Bromfield, dressed to the nines in a sparkly silver dress, held hands as he led her outside. There, they found a candle display and some of their loved ones standing beside an illuminated sign that read, \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bromfield covered her face in shock as Lyles knelt on one knee and popped the question. He slipped the ring on her finger, and they shared a kiss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple laughed as Bromfield showed off her ring to the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the caption, Lyles wrote, \u201cTo My Future Wife I Will Love You Forever,\u201d and added a ring emoji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On her page, Bromfield uploaded a video<\/a> of her celebrating the engagement with her friends. She stood in the middle of her friends, who danced around her, before strutting toward the camera and giving a better look at the sparkler on her finger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cENGAGED,\u201d she simply captioned the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrities and friends celebrated the couple beneath Lyles\u2019 post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lily Collins commented, \u201cCongratulations you both!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor Lautner wrote, \u201cLETS GO\u201d and included a raising hands emoji and a red heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fellow Team USA star Coco Gauff said, \u201ccongratulations !!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The happy couple\u2019s news comes after they spent the summer supporting each other at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Lyles ran for Team USA and brought home gold in the men\u2019s 100-meter final<\/a> and bronze in the men\u2019s 200-meter final<\/a> after testing positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bromfield competed in track and field events for Jamaica but did not medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his Aug. 21 appearance on TODAY, Lyles said about their initial connection: \u201cSomebody slid into somebody\u2019s DMs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t me,\u201d he answered when asked who sent the first message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They shared more details about their virtual connection in a June 2024 joint interview on the \u201cFast Lane Lifestyle<\/a>\u201c podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyles, forewarning it would be a long story, said Bromfield first \u201cslid into his DMs\u201d in 2017, though it took them until 2022 to become a couple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyles said he was protective when they first met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m young to the scene. I\u2019m over here thinking, as she puts it, \u2018I just broke the 300 indoor record. I can\u2019t be, you know, just be giving my number out to nobody.\u2019 You never know who be trying to take advantage of you,\u201d Lyles said in between laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They finally exchanged numbers a few weeks later, but couldn\u2019t meet up because their practice schedules conflicted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, in 2018, Lyles and Bromfield went on a first date \u2014 but \u201cit didn\u2019t click,\u201d Lyles said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt didn\u2019t click at all,\u201d Bromfield echoed. \u201cLet\u2019s just be friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in the year, they reconnected when Lyles and his teammates went to Jamaica for a track meet. He asked Bromfield for a recommendation for a place to go out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She met them there, and they danced \u201cthe whole night,\u201d Lyles said. \u201cMaybe there is something there,\u201d he remembered thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduling conflicts continued to pose an obstacle for the couple. Lyles invited Bromfield to his mom\u2019s wedding in Jamaica, but she couldn\u2019t make it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They both entered into other relationships. \u201cWe knew we liked each other, so we would stop texting whenever anybody got into a relationship,\u201d Lyles said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, they would continue to run into each other, including at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. When his long-term relationship ended, Lyles reached out to Bromfield. Eventually, he said, \u201cI\u2019m going to ask her to be my girlfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He asked her. On the podcast Bromfield said she responded, \u201cI don\u2019t want to ruin our friendship. It\u2019s going to be a long-distance relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyles proposed that they date for three months and then check in about if they wanted to keep going. \u201cEvery month from then, we would have a reassessment,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said yes and they\u2019ve been together ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Lyles and Bromfield have medals. Bromfield won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games in the women\u2019s 4×400 meter relay.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the 2024 Paris Olympics, Lyles gushed about Bromfield in an interview on TODAY in August. During the sit-down, Bromfield also appeared on air to support Lyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey, baby!\u201d he said live on TV, as she waved at him from another area of the set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When TODAY\u2019s Craig Melvin asked Lyles to share more about her, he started showering Bromfield with compliments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJunelle, a two-time Olympian, Olympic bronze medal winner, multi-world championship medalist. She\u2019s been running since she was 8 years old, making teams for Jamaica, so she\u2019s very talented in her own right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe ran at the Olympics this year in the open 400-meters, and I\u2019m so proud of her,\u201d he added. \u201cShe\u2019s a survivor. She\u2019s a fighter. She\u2019s savvy. As my mom would say, \u2018She has a bounce-back ability.\u2019 No matter what happens, she\u2019ll be able to get up and come back. Those are similar qualities I find in myself that I think we relate to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bromfield graduated in 2020 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in law from University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica,\u00a0her 2024 Paris Olympics page says.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post from August 2023,<\/a> Bromfield and Lyles celebrated seven years of friendship, six months of dating and one year of being partners, she wrote on Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple appears in \u201cSprint,\u201d a Netflix docuseries that follows track and field athletes as they prepared for 2024 Paris Games. Their banter-filled dynamic also unfolds in Bromfield\u2019s Instagram series \u201cMic\u2019d Up Junelle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bromfield posted a video earlier this year <\/a>of Lyles pulling back a cover from what appeared to be a new car. She clapped as the SUV became visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst car,\u201d she captioned the post. \u201cPaper work took so long my excitement ran out. Thank you baby.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bromfield has been competing while managing the loss of some family members, including her mother in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After qualifying for the Paris Olympics in July, she told outlet The Inside Lane<\/a> that advancing took a weight off her shoulders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt means a lot because it feels as if a burden has been lifted off my shoulders. For the past couple of years, it\u2019s been very hard mentally because I have a lot of loss in my family and I\u2019m just recovering,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has helped \u201ca lot,\u201d she said, was therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI started therapy like two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy, and he felt as if I needed it, too. Honestly, it has helped a lot because I feel as if I\u2019ve been suffering with survival guilt, and it was basically laying on my shoulders,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd now I\u2019m like, you know, I\u2019ve got to live my life and just enjoy every moment of it cause life is short,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
