Deputies were called on Jan. 12 after the person who claimed the freezer made the discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The last time Amanda had been seen or heard from was in April 2005, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain under investigation, as well as ongoing forensic testing of evidence,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/crimewatch.net\/us\/co\/mesa\/sheriff\/134177\/post\/victim-pinyon-avenue-homicide-identified?fbclid=IwY2xjawF2r2tleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHUpBU6e_VojYFYTYAqZeeewaK3PqNxqZ8DpAGtbYFUtkkT4r9RAfpi7yGw_aem_KS0fs8RvyzkFdQ8vBEblYA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said in a statement<\/a>\u00a0about the case. \u201cThere is no record that Amanda Overstreet was ever reported missing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Mesa County coroner&#8217;s office said Friday that the remains had been identified and that the manner of death was being investigated as homicide. The rest of the her body has not been found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The coroner&#8217;s office did not list a cause of death but said there is an active investigation and no further details would be released.
