{"id":32844,"date":"2024-09-29T21:20:43","date_gmt":"2024-09-30T02:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=32844"},"modified":"2024-09-29T21:20:47","modified_gmt":"2024-09-30T02:20:47","slug":"meehan-says-trump-will-absolutely-not-win-popular-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=32844","title":{"rendered":"Meehan says Trump will \u2018absolutely not\u2019 win popular vote"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Michael Meehan, the CEO of Squared Communications, said Sunday he believes former President Trump will \u201cabsolutely not\u201d win the popular vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Meehan, a Democrat, was asked by \u201cThe Hill Sunday\u201d host&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/chris-stirewalt\/\"><u>Chris Stirewalt\u2002<\/u><\/a>about Trump\u2019s standing in the polls, which show a close race but good signs for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/kamala-harris\/\"><u>Vice President Harris,<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;and whether Trump may surprise pollsters in the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDo you really think it\u2019s likely, though, that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\"><u>Donald Trump\u2002<\/u><\/a>is going to win a national popular vote majority?\u201d Stirewalt asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAbsolutely not,\u201d Meehan responded. \u201cHe totally has a ceiling, and he is right at it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">According to recent polling, with just under 40 days until the election, Harris is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/4898135-vice-president-harris-trump-lead\/\"><u>holding a 7-point lead<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;over Trump nationally and is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4902948-kamala-harris-donald-trump-swing-state-polling\/\"><u>narrowly beating him<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in 6 key battleground states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">While pollsters still caution the race is close, Meehan argued that the former president is \u201cpolling better than he\u2019s running.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/elections2024.thehill.com\/national\/harris-trump-general\/\"><u>The Hill\/Decision Desk HQ<\/u><\/a>, Harris holds a 4.2 percentage point lead over Trump based on an aggregation of national polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4905890-michael-meehan-donald-trump-not-win-popular-vote\/\">thehill<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Meehan, the CEO of Squared Communications, said Sunday he believes former President Trump will \u201cabsolutely not\u201d win the popular vote.
