Former President Trump said during Tuesday night\u2019s debate he was interested in trying to repeal ObamaCare again, but indicated he doesn\u2019t have a plan to replace it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are working on things. We\u2019re going to do it. We\u2019re going to replace it,\u201d Trump said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump has railed against the health care law since his first presidential campaign, when many Republicans were issuing calls to \u201crepeal and replace\u201d the law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Republicans were a single vote away from repealing the Affordable Care Act in 2017. The late Sen. John McCain\u2002<\/u><\/a>(R-Ariz.) broke with his party, along with Sens. Susan Collins\u2002<\/u><\/a>(R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), to give Democrats the three Republican votes needed to preserve the law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, efforts backed by his administration to repeal parts of the law were rejected by Congress and the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Ever since then, Trump has said he is in favor of trying to repeal former President Obama\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>signature law again, but also has a plan to make the law better because ObamaCare has been a failure and is costing Americans too much money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump said at Tuesday\u2019s debate that he doesn\u2019t currently have a plan to replace ObamaCare if it were repealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI have concepts of a plan. I\u2019m not president right now,\u201d Trump said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Most Republicans in Congress have said they\u2019re not interested<\/u><\/a> in trying to repeal the law again, even if they regain control of the White House and Senate next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Biden officials said earlier Tuesday that nearly 50 million Americans have enrolled in ObamaCare insurance plans since 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
