Democrats and the Biden administration \u201ccooked up these prosecutions\u201d against former President Donald Trump to distract from President Biden\u2019s failures, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) said during an appearance on\u00a0Breitbart News Saturday, warning that he does not believe this will be \u201cgood for them\u201d \u2014 the Democrats \u2014 in the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe whole idea of this thing is they don\u2019t want to talk about inflation. They don\u2019t want to talk about the border. They don\u2019t want to talk about war all over the world because it\u2019s a disaster, and Biden doesn\u2019t want to take responsibility for it,\u201d Vance, a possible Trump running mate, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He concluded that \u201cthey cooked up these prosecutions to try to pin Donald Trump as a convicted felon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vance pointed out that, for a while, Democrat operatives admitted that the business records case in New York was the \u201cweakest of all the cases.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn fact, they were upset that Alvin Bragg brought this case because it gave credit to the idea that this was all a sham, political prosecution. \u2026 They didn\u2019t want the Alvin Bragg case at all, because it revealed how much this was all about politics and not justice,\u201d he said, pointing to the fact that this ended up being the only case going to trial. Because of that, they have suddenly decided that it\u2019s \u201cthe most important trial of the century here, even though we had every single piece of data, pointing out that this was politically biased.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou have the judge donating to Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. You have the financial interests of his daughter. You have the prosecutor funded by George Soros who ran on getting Donald Trump right \u2014 not exactly an objective administration of justice,\u201d Vance said, highlighting the fact that the judge continually intervened to save the prosecution\u2019s case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was just obviously all about politics. I think the American people see right through it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Vance said that Democrats \u201cgot what they wanted out of this,\u201d he does not think it will end in their favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be good for them, and I think this is sort of a \u2014 talk about your all time backfires \u2014 to use one of my favorite lines from Happy Gilmore<\/em>. They\u2019ve activated not just a MAGA base, Matt, but they\u2019ve activated a lot of normal Americans who don\u2019t care about politics who are saying, if they can give the whole Trump 34 felony counts for what is \u2014 even if you buy their case \u2014 a paperwork violation, then they know they\u2019re going to use the justice system against all of their enemies,\u201d the senator said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd I think a lot of Americans are saying this is not the country we know and love. We\u2019ve had it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
