{"id":26892,"date":"2024-05-06T05:32:20","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T10:32:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=26892"},"modified":"2024-05-06T05:32:30","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T10:32:30","slug":"joe-bidens-border-policy-kills-hundreds-of-illegal-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=26892","title":{"rendered":"Joe Biden\u2019s Border Policy Kills Hundreds of Illegal Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Hundreds of illegal migrants are being killed on construction sites around the nation, marking another hidden cost of President Joe Biden\u2019s progressive welcome for cheap migrant labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cForeign-born Hispanic or Latino workers accounted for 63.5 percent (792) of total Hispanic or Latino worker fatalities (1,248),\u201d in 2022, according to a December&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/cfoi.nr0.htm\">release<\/a>&nbsp;by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. \u201cFatalities in the construction industry accounted for 316 [or 40 percent] of the 792 foreign-born Hispanic or Latino worker deaths in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The government department will not issue death data for 2023 until after the 2024 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Media coverage of the 719 deaths among working illegal immigrants has been minimal \u2014 especially in comparison to the media\u2019s coverage of the \u201ckids in cages\u201d faux border scandal during President Donald Trump\u2019s four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">But the huge death toll among illegal migrants was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inthesetimes.com\/article\/latino-workers-safety-fatalities-injuries-construction-roofing-meatpacking-heat\">spotlighted<\/a>&nbsp;by a left-wing publication, InThesetimes.com:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cWhen we come to this country, we want to make money, so we get into sketchy situations,\u201d says Sanchez, who worked for about&nbsp;15&nbsp;years in the South since coming to the United States. He has worked at places where they asked for papers and where they didn\u2019t. And that has meant taking jobs where he can slip by.&nbsp;\u200b\u201cWhen we try to work with [white] Americans, there, they ask for a&nbsp;good Social Security card, and if we don\u2019t have one, we die of hunger,\u201d he&nbsp;says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">So, too, some are teens working in dangerous jobs, like Duvan Tomas Perez, a&nbsp;16-year-old from a&nbsp;rural Guatemalan village, who&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/07\/19\/us\/mississippi-poultry-plant-death.html\">died<\/a>&nbsp;last July, while working on the regular cleaning crew in a&nbsp;Mar-Jac Poultry plant in Hattiesburg, Miss. U.S. law bars youths under&nbsp;18&nbsp;years old from working in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/agencies\/whd\/fact-sheets\/43-child-labor-non-agriculture\">hazardous<\/a>&nbsp;workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, the magazine pushed a race-based perspective that downplayed Biden\u2019s policies, as well as the legal and moral distinctions between illegal migrants and Americans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u7a97\u4f53\u9876\u7aef<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Overall, Latino&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpwr.com\/research\/data-center\/the-construction-chart-book\/chart-book-6th-edition-labor-force-characteristics-hispanic-workers-in-construction-occupations\/\">workers<\/a>&nbsp;tend to be younger and less experienced, lack training in the job, earn lower wages and work for small outfits, researchers say. They often take jobs in sectors that others avoid. For example, Latino workers make up&nbsp;55.5% of the nation\u2019s roofers, which had the highest fatality rate in the construction industry in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpwr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DataBulletin-May2022.pdf\">2020.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Biden\u2019s deputies are trying to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2023\/01\/24\/bidens-deputies-use-ice-agents-to-raise-pay-for-illegal-workers\/\">improve<\/a>&nbsp;workplace safety for illegals by encouraging their participation in unions, so causing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/immigration-and-wages\/\">further wage losses<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/03\/14\/watch-whistleblower-says-illegal-aliens-have-taken-over-every-trade-in-ca-construction-driven-down-u-s-wages\/\">ordinary Americans<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The article was also silent about the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2024\/03\/21\/joe-bidens-bloodbath-border-killed-1000-migrants-in-2022\/\">thousands of dead migrants<\/a>&nbsp;\u2014 male and female, adults and children \u2014 who are lured to their deaths by Biden and his deputies. Those deputies, including Biden\u2019s impeached border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, import more workers to please his party\u2019s donors even as they portray President Donald Trump\u2019s safer border policy as immoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A few GOP politicians have begun to spotlight Biden\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/migrant-deaths\/\">rising<\/a>&nbsp;death toll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cMigrants died in this journey coming here because Joe Biden told them to surge to our border and come into our country,\u201d Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2024\/03\/21\/joe-bidens-bloodbath-border-killed-1000-migrants-in-2022\/\">told<\/a>&nbsp;a&nbsp;March 7 hearing&nbsp;held by the House Committee on the Judiciary. \u201cWhat\u2019s the solution? Seems to me we call timeout,\u201d said Jordan, chairman of the judiciary committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">But Democrats dismiss the death toll, even as they slam Republicans for detaining migrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cOur economy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/extraction-migration\/\">needs more workers<\/a>,\u201d Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC) told the March hearing.&nbsp; \u201cMigrants accept the costs and risks of journeying to the United States because they understand that their labor is in demand here and that employment will be easy to come by.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Democrats and the U.S. media also say little about the mass rapes and sexual violence committed against migrants on their way to Biden\u2019s welcome. On April 4, however, the&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/04\/world\/americas\/migrants-sexual-assault-darien-gap.html?ugrp=c&amp;unlocked_article_code=1.h00.D-PF.9qpbyLzXaV-r&amp;smid=url-share\">posted<\/a>&nbsp;an article from their correspondent in South America:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Assault, robbery and rape have long been a grim risk of migrant journeys around the globe. But aid groups working in the Dari\u00e9n Gap say that in the past six months they have documented an extraordinary spike in attacks, with patterns and frequencies rarely seen outside of war zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In January and February, Doctors Without Borders recorded 328 reports of sexual violence, compared with 676 in all of 2023. This year, 113 came in a single week in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe level of brutality is extreme,\u201d said Luis Eguiluz, the organization\u2019s director in Colombia and Panama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The article was closed to commenters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Many illegal migrants also die from workplace accidents in GOP-run regions such as Texas, InTheseTimes.com noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Texas is one of the most&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aflcio.org\/reports\/death-job-toll-neglect-2023\">lethal<\/a>&nbsp;states for Latino workers and recorded&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aflcio.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-04\/2303_DOTJ_2023_final (3).pdf\">269<\/a>&nbsp;deaths in&nbsp;2022, up from&nbsp;211&nbsp;in&nbsp;2016. Latino people make up&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/quickfacts\/fact\/table\/TX\/POP010210\">40%<\/a>&nbsp;of the state\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"#PST045223\">population<\/a>, but they accounted for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdi.texas.gov\/wc\/safety\/sis\/documents\/2022fatalrpt.pdf\">47%<\/a>&nbsp;of workers killed on the job in&nbsp;2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The 792 confirmed migrant deaths are a small share of the rising number and rate of workplace deaths under Biden. The BLS&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/cfoi.nr0.htm\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">There were 5,486 fatal work injuries recorded in the United States in 2022, a 5.7-percent increase from 5,190 in 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today \u2026 The fatal work injury rate was 3.7 fatalities per 100,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers, up from 3.6 per 100,000 FTE in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Many of the workplace deaths were caused by murderers or dangerous drivers, echoing the massive spike amid the Democrats\u2019 Black Lives Matter campaign against policing. The BLS noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Almost a quarter (24.6 percent) of fatalities due to homicides occurred while a worker was tending a retail establishment or waiting on customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Roadway incidents involving motorized land vehicles increased 9.3 percent between 2021 and 2022, leading to a series high of 1,369 fatalities.
