Gavin Newsom released an ad on Sunday showing Alabama police forcing young women to undergo pregnancy tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlabama\u2019s abortion ban has no exceptions for rape or incest. Now, Republicans are trying to criminalize young women\u2019s travel to receive abortion care. We\u2019re gonna make it,\u201d one woman says to the driver after looking back to see if they are being followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Just then, the women break into tears as an Alabama State police car blares its siren and demands they pull over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTrump Republicans want to criticize young Alabama women who travel for reproductive care,\u201d the announcer says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">After the police officer asks the women to step out of the vehicle to \u201ctake a pregnancy test,\u201d the announcer says, \u201cStop them by taking action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">It then directs people to a website&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/act.gavinnewsom.com\/signup\/right_to_travel\/\">sponsored<\/a>&nbsp;by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, which says the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Republicans are not stopping at overturning Roe vs. Wade. Now they want to lock women and girls down completely, taking away their constitutional right to travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Three states \u2013 Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Alabama \u2013 are considering bills that ban minors from traveling out of state to get an abortion without parental consent \u2014 no matter if it\u2019s a case of incest or if there is abuse in the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">These are states that basically want to imprison women and young girls. It\u2019s a backdoor nationwide abortion ban, denying women the opportunity to go to a freedom state. Taking away the right to travel that\u2019s guaranteed by the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Social media commenters trashed the ad, saying Newsom took it too far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is total propaganda,\u201d said one user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYet businesses, families, and congressional seats can\u2019t flee California fast enough,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is unhinged even for you,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2024\/04\/21\/watch-gavin-newsom-releases-ad-showing-alabama-police-forcing-pregnancy-tests-women\/\">Breitbart<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democrat California Gov.
