{"id":26342,"date":"2024-04-22T03:37:48","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T08:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=26342"},"modified":"2024-04-22T03:37:58","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T08:37:58","slug":"health-alert-officials-warn-of-ground-beef-contaminated-by-e-coli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=26342","title":{"rendered":"Health Alert: Officials Warn of Ground Beef Contaminated by E.coli"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Food safety officials have issued a nationwide public health alert for ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/recalls-alerts\/fsis-issues-public-health-alert-ground-beef-products-due-possible-e--coli-o157h7-0\">announcement<\/a>&nbsp;on Saturday, warning consumers against eating certain raw ground beef items that were produced on March 28, 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The contaminated food products have a \u201cUse\/Freeze by\u201d date of April 22, 2024, and packaging date of \u201c032824.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">FSIS said the products subject to the public health alert bear establishment number \u201cEST. 960A\u201d inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were \u201cshipped to food service institutions and retail locations nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The complete list of specific products to avoid can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/food_label_pdf\/2024-04\/PHA_label_04202024_01_List of products.pdf\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe problem was discovered by the establishment while conducting an inventory of product that was on hold because it was found positive for E. coli O157:H7,\u201d officials stated. \u201cThe company notified FSIS that they inadvertently used a portion of the contaminated beef to produce ground beef products that they subsequently shipped into commerce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">While there have been no confirmed reports of illness in connection with the contaminated beef, consumers are still encouraged to toss out any food they have that was on the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A recall was not issued because those items are no longer available for purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">E. coli is a \u201cpotentially deadly\u201d bacterium that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps after exposure, FSIS said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2024\/04\/21\/health-alert-officials-warn-of-ground-beef-contaminated-by-e-coli\/\">Breitbart<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Food safety officials have issued a nationwide public health alert for ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli.
