{"id":25699,"date":"2024-04-05T04:07:15","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T09:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=25699"},"modified":"2024-04-05T04:07:20","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T09:07:20","slug":"us-wants-another-kosovo-in-syrias-northwest-keep-control-of-oil-wheat-in-northeast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=25699","title":{"rendered":"US Wants \u2018Another Kosovo\u2019 in Syria\u2019s Northwest, Keep Control of Oil, Wheat in Northeast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>13-years into a bloody civil war the US has financed, Syria remains fractured, controlled in parts by no less than seven factions.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The United States wants to create \u201canother Kosovo\u201d in Syria while cutting off the country\u2019s resources from its adversaries in the region, investigative Syrian-American journalist Hekmat Aboukhater&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/v4n8uo9-april-3-2024.html?start=2262\">told Sputnik\u2019s Political Misfits<\/a>&nbsp;on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Aboukhater was speaking about the fractured state of Syria and the US control in the northeast of the country, \u201dThis area happens to be the place where we have our oil derricks, all of Syria\u2019s natural resources are there, along with the wheat,\u201d he explained, noting that Syria produces 350-400,000 barrels of oil a day. \u201cThese revenues are going [towards] sustaining this Kurdish enclave that\u2019s supported by the US and funds the operation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cSo the United States [requires] a very light footprint to remain in northeast Syria,\u201d Aboukhater explained, while also getting to \u201ccut the supply lines from the so-called axis of resistance between Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.Aboukhater recently went undercover at a Syrian lobbying event, where the American Coalition for Syria pushed for an extension of sanctions that were set to expire in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThese sanctions are not affecting the government. The [Bashar al] Assad regime, as they like to call it, is eating beautifully. The Syrian people are the ones that are struggling,\u201d Aboukhater explained.&nbsp;<strong>\u201cI have family in Damascus, I have family in Homs, I have family in Aleppo, and I\u2019m seeing it every time I go down. I see the situation gradually becoming worse and worse.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Aboukhater noted that the situation in Syria is \u201cas complicated as it gets\u201d and encouraged readers to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thegrayzone.com\/2024\/03\/20\/anti-syria-lobbys-capitol-hill-sanctions\/\">read his article<\/a>&nbsp;but summarized the US position as \u201cvery happy with the status quo,\u201d with them controlling the northeast of Syria through the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Meanwhile, the northwest, controlled by Hay&#8217;at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) an offshoot of Al-Qaeda shares a common enemy with the US in the Assad government, which the American Coalition for Syria lobbied US lawmakers to fund through more than just humanitarian aid and the US would like to \u201cmake a Kosovo out of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sputnikglobe.com\/20240404\/us-wants-another-kosovo-in-syrias-northwest-keep-control-of-oil-wheat-in-northeast-1117727871.html\">Sputnikglobe<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>13-years into a bloody civil war the US has financed, Syria remains fractured, controlled in parts by no less than seven factions.
