There are differences over policies to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Previously&nbsp;, Anelle Sherrin, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sputniknews.cn\/20240329\/1058035252.html\">US State Department official responsible for Middle East democracy and human rights affairs, resigned on March 27, publicly stating that she disapproved of US President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration&#8217;s support for Israel&#8217;s military operations in the Gaza Strip.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;Regarding disagreement, just as there is a wide range of opinions within the State Department on some of our important foreign policy issues, there is also a wide range of views on our Gaza policy this time around,&#8221; Miller said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Miller also noted that while the administration is open to staff expressing their views on U.S. policy, it will not &#8220;change policy based solely on what each staff member thinks.&#8221; According to Miller, political decisions are made based on what is consistent with U.S. national security interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, related to the territorial interests of the two parties, has been a source of tension and fighting in the region for decades.
