{"id":18623,"date":"2023-10-05T08:16:30","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T13:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=18623"},"modified":"2023-10-05T08:16:33","modified_gmt":"2023-10-05T13:16:33","slug":"new-york-judge-issues-limited-gag-order-after-trump-sends-disparaging-post-about-court-clerk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=18623","title":{"rendered":"New York judge issues limited gag order after Trump sends disparaging post about court clerk"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Rebuking Donald Trump, a state court judge imposed a limited gag order Tuesday in the former president\u2019s civil business fraud trial and ordered him to delete a social media post that publicly maligned a key court staffer.<br>Judge Arthur Engoron told all participants in the case not to smear court personnel, warning of \u201cserious sanctions\u201d if they do.<br>\u201cPersonal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, not appropriate, and I will not tolerate them,\u201d Engoron said after complaining \u2014 without naming names \u2014 about a defendant\u2019s \u201ddisparaging, untrue and personally identifying post about a member of my staff.\u201d<br>A few hours earlier, Trump had posted a photo of Engoron\u2019s principal law clerk, Allison Greenfield, posing with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., at a public event.
