A State Department spokesperson said on Monday that Washington supports the Zionist regime\u2019s so-called \u201cright to defend\u201d itself against Palestinian resistance groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which the statement called \u201cterrorist groups\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is imperative to take all possible precautions to prevent the loss of civilian lives,\u201d the spokesperson added, according to AFP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remarks came hours after the Zionist regime\u2019s forces targeted the densely populated Jenin refugee camp with air and ground raids, killing at least ten Palestinians and wounding hundreds more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Zionist regime\u2019s military also forced hundreds of Palestinian families in Jenin and its refugee camp to leave their homes in preparation for demolishing the houses in order to reach the resistance fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the regime\u2019s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, called the US Tel Aviv\u2019s \u201cirreplaceable and indispensable ally\u201d and vowed to continue the aggression against Jenin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jenin refugee camp has been the site of \u201csignificant suffering\u201d for decades, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
