The White House and President Biden are facing criticism over a Pride Month tweet about LGBTQ children in which the commander in chief declared, \u201cThese are our kids.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Posted by the official White House Twitter account on Monday, the video narrated by the 80-year-old president shows the Executive Mansion illuminated in rainbow colors symbolizing the LGBTQ movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese are our kids. These are our neighbors. Not somebody else\u2019s kids; they\u2019re all our kids. And our children are the kite strings that hold our national ambitions aloft,\u201d Biden says in the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt matters a great deal how we treat everyone in this country. LGBTQ Americans, especially children, you are loved, you are heard, and this administration has your back,\u201d the president declares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTo the LGBTQI+ Community \u2014 the Biden-Harris Administration has your back,\u201d the White House tweeted with the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A flood of social media users, including Twitter owner Elon Musk, reacted to the post with outrage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou are the government. They are NOT your kids,\u201d Musk, a father of 10, said in a reply to the White House post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur kids are not fodder for the government,\u201d the billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO added in a separate post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis\u2019 2024 presidential campaign also took issue with the Biden administration\u2019s verbiage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey are not your kids,\u201d the DeSantis campaign wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Polling company Rasmussen Reports noted in a Twitter post that a May 18 survey of likely voters in California found that 64% disagree with the statement \u201cThere is no such thing as someone else\u2019s child. Our nation\u2019s children are all our children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAmerica disagrees with you,\u201d the polling outfit\u2019s tweet read, highlighting that even 58% of Democrats disagreed with the notion that children in the US belong to everyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Twitter account managed by the Republican National Committee also weighed in, tweeting, \u201cThe idea that kids are \u2018not somebody else\u2019s kids, they\u2019re all our kids\u2019 is now one of the Biden administration\u2019s main messages. Kids belong to their parents \u2014 NOT the government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The backlash over the Biden administration post comes one day after the White House banned a polyamorous trans influencer Rose Montoya after she flashed her breasts at Biden\u2019s Pride party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Footage of Montoya, 27, pulling her shirt and cupping her breasts moments after meeting Biden on the South Lawn Saturday went viral and forced the White House to rebuke her actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful for any event at the White House,\u201d a spokesperson told The Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance. Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
