President Biden\u2019s 53-year-old son has been trying to lower his $20,000-a-month child support payments to former stripper Lunden Roberts \u2014 with whom he shares 4-year-old daughter Navy Joan Roberts \u2014 a move that Roberts\u00a0has vowed to fight.
\u201cMr. Biden does not want to disclose his income and assets, says that he is somewhat financially destitute, while he lives on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, has Secret Service protection, and enjoys his time abroad (which he has also lied about in discovery),\u201d Roberts\u2019 lawyer Clinton Lancaster wrote in court papers Friday.
Lawyers on both sides have filed a slew of court papers arguing over whether a deposition by Biden\u2019s lawyers of ex-Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler should go forward Monday.
Roberts, 32, wants to call Ziegler \u2014 the 27-year-old founder of nonprofit Marco Polo, which published a 644-page analysis of the contents of Hunter\u2019s infamous laptop \u2014 as an expert witness at the July trial in the Arkansas child support case.
But Lancaster claims since Biden is still refusing to turn over all the discovery materials in the case, Ziegler won\u2019t have all the information he needs for his grilling by three Biden lawyers.
Roberts doesn\u2019t want to play games and says it \u201conly hurts the child in this case as Mr. Biden seeks to shirk his daughter\u2019s needs and support,\u201d Lancaster wrote.
Biden\u2019s lawyers, meanwhile, have previously said Ziegler shouldn\u2019t be allowed to testify as an expert witness, attacking his credibility \u2014 saying he lacks the credentials and actual expertise \u2014 and charging that he\u2019s carrying out a \u201cwar on\u201d Biden.
In court papers Thursday, Biden\u2019s lawyers called Roberts\u2019 \u201celeventh-hour\u201d bid to delay the Ziegler deposition \u201ca ploy\u201d and claimed their client has turned over all the relevant discovery in the case.
Biden, formerly a high-paid lobbyist, has also opposed Roberts\u2019 efforts to have Navy\u2019s last name changed to Biden so she can benefit from the prestige that comes with the name. The former flames had a month-long affair after Biden met her at a strip club where she performed. He denied being Navy\u2019s father until a DNA test proved otherwise.
